Welcome to WBF - Wanna Be Friends?

We respect the privacy of the women who use and visit this website, and we work to protect the personal information you give us. This policy covers the WBF website and registration for the matching service. At this stage matches are made manually by the WBF team, and the full system is still in development.

1. Who is responsible for the information?

The website is operated by Shikma Ventures, LLC, a Delaware (USA) limited liability company, 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, USA ("WBF" or "the operator"). The operator is the controller of the information.

2. What information do we collect?

When you register, we may collect:

• Your first name, email address and phone number (if provided).
• Your city or area.
• Your age group.
• The kind of friendship you are looking for.
• Your interests and preferred activities.
• Your general availability for meetups.
• The language you signed up in, and how you reached the site (for example, which ad), when known.
• A record of your consent to the signup and to this privacy policy and, separately, of your consent (if given) to receive invitations and updates, including when each was given and which wording applied.
• Membership data: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, membership status, billing and cancellation dates. Card details are not given to us and are not stored by us; they go directly to Stripe.

In addition, technical information such as IP address, browser data and security logs may be collected when you use the site, according to the settings of the services that run it.

3. How we use the information

The information is used to manage your registration and membership, collect payment, make matches between members and suggest them to you, contact you about the service, assess demand by area and age group, plan the service, secure the website and prevent abuse. Your contact details are never passed to another member without your explicit consent.

We will not use the information collected to create a public social profile without appropriate notice and without you completing registration for the live service.

Where you have opted in, we may also use your contact information to send invitations to WBF meetups, events and activities. You may withdraw this consent at any time, by contacting us at the address below or through the unsubscribe link in the message.

Any further marketing messages will be sent only as permitted by law and according to your preferences.

4. Do you have to provide information?

Providing information is voluntary, and there is no legal obligation to do so. However, without basic contact details we cannot register you or suggest matches.

The other matching details help us plan the service and understand what members want.

5. Who may the information be shared with?

To run the website and store data we use infrastructure providers, including Vercel for website hosting and Supabase for the database. Payments and memberships are handled by Stripe, Inc. (USA), which receives your payment details directly from you and processes them under its own privacy policy. We use Google Workspace for email.

Access to the information is limited to authorised people, according to their role and operational need, and subject to appropriate arrangements.

We will not publish your signup details to other members. Information is passed to other parties only in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

6. Storage of information outside Israel

The service database is stored on Supabase servers in the European Union (Germany). The operator is a company registered in the United States, so the information is also accessed and processed from the United States. Our infrastructure providers may also store or process information in other locations outside Israel. By registering for the service you consent to the transfer and processing of your information as described. Transfers are made subject to legal requirements and the required arrangements with the service providers.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep the information for as long as it is needed to provide the service and for the purposes described in this policy, subject to retention periods to be set and to applicable law.

You can contact us to be removed from the service, or to access, correct or delete your information, in accordance with your rights under the law.

8. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss and misuse. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies and tracking technologies

The site may use technical means required for its operation and security. As of the last update, the site does not run third-party analytics or advertising tools.

If non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking tools are added, we will update this policy and implement notice and consent mechanisms as required by applicable law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy following changes in the service, in technology or in legal requirements. The date of the last update appears at the top of this document.
